Primer of Drug Action, Robert M. Julien

This e book is an excellent useful resource in understanding psycho pharmacology. I have been using it for a category and It has all of the info that I need. It is a little dense but totally covers every drug.

I'm a couple of 150 pages in and I discover the material fascinating. It's actually wonderful all the effort that has been utilized to the development of those CNS drugs. However, one thing that has begun to bother the heck out of me is the depiction of chemical buildings for varied medicine described within. The selection of format is inconsistent. As an example, the depiction of alkyl chains switches from condensed format (i.e. lines, like how it might be produced in ChemDraw) to expanded (i.e. writing out CH2-CH2-CH3) for no motive at all (and sometimes within the similar molecule). Another example, one drug construction had an aryl halide bond but the structure didn't specify the place on the ring. I discovered myself looking out the generic drug title in Wikipedia or Google just to find a higher construction image. Possibly it's as a result of I used to be skilled as an natural chemist, however I find this lack of consideration to element just lazy.
